Can Neurodiversity Transform Creative Work?

Inside La Casa de Carlota

What happens when neurodiversity shapes the creative process?

Follow me during my three-week curatorial research residency at La Casa de Carlota (Barcelona), the world’s first professional creative studio that incorporates neurodiverse illustrators and professionals with and without disabilities.

Rather than asking how creative industries can become more inclusive, this research explores a different question: what happens when neurodiversity becomes part of the creative process from the very beginning?

Through interviews with the studio team, participant observation and conversations with professionals working across art, design and social innovation, the residency investigates:
• inclusive creative methodologies
• co-creation and authorship
• professional inclusion
• neurodiversity in design
• collaborative working models
• accessibility in creative industries

Drop a message if you work in contemporary art, socially engaged art, design, accessibility or cultural management, I’d love to share opinions.
